For those who don’t know, former Gov. Mark Racicot is spending his holiday in Montana. But the reason for his trip is not to spend time with family, but traveling the state with Chuck Butler (former Martz Communications Director and GOP employee) on a media tour. The Montana GOP E-Brief claims he’s using the time stumping for Judge Samuel Alito for US Supreme Court. Among other things, he defended energy deregulation, spoke very highly of D.C. lobbyists (of course, he is one), defended so-called “asbestos reform” and, only after two callers questioned him, said he is not going to run for U.S. Senate should Senator Burns either drop out or find himself facing some jail time. I, for one, don’t buy it - something doesn’t add up. Oh, and rumor has it the RNC is picking up the tab. Why, on earth, would the RNC send a former Governor on a statewide media tour. Any ideas??
