NOTICE: To coincide with the Montana Democratic Party’s annual Mansfield-Metcalf dinner, the Big Sky Democrats will hold a business meeting to elect new officers on March 11, 2006 in Helena.

Elections will be held for the following positions:

State President:
The State President serves as chief executive officer and official voice of the Big Sky Democrats. The President also presides over all meetings, helps make financial decisions, and appoints chairs to standing committees. The State President is also a voting member of the Montana Democratic Party’s executive board. more

Vice President of Membership:
The VP of membership is charged with
coordinating membership, major events, and in the
absence of the President presiding over meetings.

Vice President of Finance:
This is basically the fundraising position, but also assists the treasurer in keeping the books and filing financial reports. The VP of Finance will be expected to lead fundraising
efforts and keep the group on level footing, in other words in the black and out of jail.

Treasurer:
The Treasurer is the official bookkeeper, managing accounts payable and receivable and filing financial reports for the organization.

Secretary:
Shall maintain all records of the Organization, serve all required notices, and discharge any other duties at the discretion of the President. This person will help organize meetings and get people the info they need to stay current.

Political Director:
This person shall maintain contact with elected officials, statewide campaigns, the state party, and help shape the group's political strategy.

Indian Coordinator:
The Indian Coordinator is charged with developing chapters and membership amongst Montana’s Native Americans.

Seven Regional Directors:

The regional directors will be the chief organizing director of their region of the state, and be charged with establishing local chapters, proactively recruiting new members, and keeping their region up to speed on political and organization events.
