Did anyone else want to throw up last weekend after reading the Great Falls Tribune story about Dennis Rehberg’s meeting with Bono? I did.
Here’s why:
Bono is cool. Rehberg is so NOT cool. Bono actually cares about his mission helping African countries. Rehberg is a politician’s politician and he only met with Bono so Mini-Me could get an autograph and brag to his friend – yeah, friend singular. Ick!
Come out and support these Big Sky Democrats...

In Montana, the details of the immigration reform debate can sometimes be lost in the large brush-strokes, as Montana has fewer illegals visibly contributing to society than states like California, Arizona, and Florida.
However, it's stories like these that help us keep in touch with our Commander in Chief's grip on the situation. Even with a nearly 100-year history of attempts to welcome those of another tongue to our country, and with stories floating about President Bush tuning in en espanol, the official story? He's not literate in Spanish, either.
Group Backs 4 Young Democrats for State Legislature
HELENA – The Big Sky Democrats weighed in on the primary election for the Montana legislature today, endorsing four young Democrats for the Montana House of Representatives.
The Big Sky Democrats, with more than 400 members across Montana, has launched a first-of-its kind initiative to build a new generation of Montana leaders and “pump new blood into the Democratic Party,” said Tim Tatarka, Big Sky Democrats Political Director.
“These endorsements are an important step to toward fulfilling our group’s mission: mobilizing young people and building a new generation of Montana leadership,” Tatarka said. “We’re going to raise money, provide grassroots resources, and do everything we can to get these folks elected.” Here's the list.
Back by popular demand, Big Sky Democrats officials are preparing a May Hot List to show who’s hot and who’s not this month. But we’re taking this idea to the streets -- kicking it back to our readers for some creative juice.
If you have an idea for the Hot List, send us an e-mail with “Hot List” in the subject line. Ideas should include both a “Hot” entry and a “Not Hot” entry. A panel of judges will pick the most creative entries for the May list. Please submit by May 7. (Please indicate whether or not you want your identity shared and we’ll give credit where credit is due, if not all entries will be anonymous.) more
Kate Steadman of TPM Café has high praise for Max Baucus' new bill to simplify the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit. Steadman writes: “A bill reducing the options, currently at an average of 41 per region, to six plans still allows for ample choice while destroying the barriers of confusion currently keeping out millions of beneficaries.”
Baucus is also opposing the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Health Care Bill proposed by Sen. Enzi of Wyo. Way to go Max!
Conrad Burns took the day off as other more serious contenders debated at a health care forum in Helena. A pointer for organizers of similar events who’d like to see CB show up: No money—no Conrad. Check out the article below:

Word around the campfire is that Teamsters Local 190 in Billings has endorsed Kendall Van Dyk in the primary and general race for House District 49. Such endorsements are rare in primaries and Kendall already picked up an MCV primary endorsement. What a tremendous groundswell of support in a primary race! more
