Chuck Denowh, executive director of the Montana Republican Party, watched the Helena rally from the side. He said it's disingenuous for Democrats to talk about cleaning up politics when two of the Democrats' own Senate candidates admitted to breaking the law earlier in the campaign when they used illegal, pre-recorded, machine-generated phone calls to contact prospective voters.
"They've got a severe ethics problem of their own," he said.
Tom Bunnell, Burns' campaign manager, brushed aside the protest.
"Senator Burns is focusing on his job for Montana and not the antics of those who have nothing positive to put forth for Montana's future," he said.
