Butte Debate Details - MTSen.

Where: Mother Lode Theatre; 316 W. Park Street

When: Debate begins officially at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23rd.

IMPORTANT: I arrived at the Hamilton debate 25 minutes before it was scheduled to begin, and I was one of the last people allowed through the door. This one will be even more packed. GET TO THE THEATRE AT 5:00 P.M. OR SOONER TO SUPPORT JON.

Who/What: Do you really need to ask? Our favorite (sorry, dad) Montana Farmer will, once again, whoop up on Missouri's favorite auctioneer.

How: Only with your help.

Schedule for Saturday in Butte:

10:00 a.m. Farmer's Market in Uptown Butte

11:30 a.m. Ground Round Cheese Burger & Fries at the M&M. Pepsi, please - must serve your own drinks at the bar

1:00 p.m. Stroll around historic uptown Butte - spend a little money, sip a little latte, pet a little puppy, introduce yourself to the locals - I assure you they will welcome you with open, friendly arms when you tell them what you're in town for.

4:30 p.m. Stand patiently outside the Mother Lode Theatre, wearing a fleece jacket and gloves, because it starts to get chilly around then.

5:00 p.m. Claim your seat! Be polite! Smile! Don't let the Burns people get your goat, kill them with kindness.

6:00 p.m. Watch our fella win the debate. Watch Conrad Burns sputter a bit.

7:00 p.m. Fancy Schmancy Fundraiser for Jon Tester at the Rosenberg Furniture building.

8:30 p.m. Metals Banque. Order a cocktail or a Guinness, chat with friends about how well Jon did, shake the man of the hour's hand, snack a bit, boogie a lot, HAVE FUN! $5 cover seems pretty cheap for all this, yes?

2:00 a.m. Walk out the front door of Metal's Banque and into a cab. Safe travels!

Where to stay: Uptown hotels are the Finlen or the Capri. Finlen is by far the preferred, but the Capri will work for those who want to park their car for the night. Downtown - Red Lion & Copper King are union establishments. I recommend them for that reason. Help those who help us.
