Burns and Rehberg continue to screw our veterans. A little background for you folks that might not know. The VA stands for the Veterans Affairs Administration. Its a federal agency tasked with providing health care and other services to veterans who served in our armed forces. It provides everything from basic check-ups, to surgery, to long term care, to counseling.
In Missoula or just passing through, we have some events to rock you right through August and on into September.

While BSD doesn't have any official connection to this campaign fundraiser, a lot of us young demos are going to the concert so we are going to have a "pre-game soiree" before the concert.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to see a ballgame in style with the Montana's fastest growing political group, the Big Sky Democrats and special guests U.S. Senate candidates Jon Tester and John Morrison at our 'Night with the Mustangs' the evening of August 24 from 5-7 pm.
The Big Sky Democrats have rented out the space along the third baseline at Cobb Field for this special event. For $17, you can get into the game, get some dinner and a beer or soft drink. The party is open to everyone and admission is free for kids age 5 and under.

Big props need to go out to our new Party Chairman, Dennis McDonald (or more affectionately known amongst the BSDs as “D-Mac”) for sticking the landing perfectly during his first big news cycle.

NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation will host its annual CampusOrganizing Training in Helena on Friday, August 12. The training will start at 10:30 am and run until 5:00 pm. The training is free, but students must register at prochoice@mt.net to attend. Lunch will be provided.

NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation will train you to become an effective organizer on your campus, talk to other students about choice issues, work with the media, fundraise, and create and stick to a nine-month plan for organizing.
